50kW BESS: What It Is and Who It Fits
A 50kW BESS combines a 50KVA bidirectional inverter with a 112kWh LiFePO4 battery bank. It is the entry point for commercial storage: large enough to carry a clinic, a guesthouse, a retail chain or a small workshop through a full evening load, small enough to fit a single cabinet and a modest budget.
A 50kW BESS typically serves sites consuming 250 to 450kWh per day. Where a diesel generator would burn 15 to 25 litres an hour, the same load served from a 112kWh battery recharged by solar runs at a fraction of the marginal cost.
What a 112kWh BESS can power
Usable energy of about 101kWh covers the critical loads of a mid-size facility through a typical outage window: refrigeration, lighting, IT, security and selected production circuits. At half its rated power the system runs for roughly 4.0 hours between charges.
Paired with solar, the battery shifts daytime generation into the evening peak and keeps critical circuits alive when the grid fails.
How to size storage for your site
Start from the critical load list (kW) and the hours of cover you need — not from the total site load. Energy (kWh) = critical kW × hours, adjusted for depth of discharge and reserve. Our team sizes the battery, PCS and protection against your outage pattern and tariff.
